CALL FOR POSTER ABSTRACTS

Submit Your Abstracts Learn More About the Conference Register

The Minority Health Disparities Initiative invites students, scholars, and practitioners to submit an abstract for a poster presentation at our annual 2025 Health Equity Conference. This conference will be held at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, on February 28th, 2025. The Poster Session will take place from 10:30 – 11:30 AM CT.

Abstracts from research and/or practice-oriented projects or presentations that provide theoretical frameworks from undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, government organizations, and community members or organizations are welcome. Topics should ideally relate to health disparities and health equity among minoritized, marginalized, and vulnerable populations. Abstracts with a with particular focus on thriving, resilience, and coping as they relate to experiences of discrimination and/or life stressors are strongly encouraged.

The Poster Session aims to highlight various health equity research projects through brief presentations, allowing for more personal conversation and discussion. Those selected to participate will receive more information about presentation formatting and session details as we near the conference. We highly encourage undergraduate and graduate student submissions.

The abstract submission deadline is set for Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:59 PM CT. If you have any questions, please contact mhdi@unl.edu and include "MHDI Poster Abstract Inquiry” in the subject line.

Presenters will be notified of acceptance by Monday, December 16, 2024. If you do not receive any communications regarding your submission, please contact us at mhdi@unl.edu and include "MHDI Conference Abstract Submission Update” in the subject line.

Guidelines for Posters

We recommend your poster board size to be 36x24. Please note that posters should be no bigger than 40x30 to avoid complications during setup. You can choose either landscape or portrait orientation within that size. At the conference, presenters will be provided with mounting hardware for your poster (i.e., t-pins, pushpins, Velcro).

NOTE: Registration is REQUIRED for all presenters.

Timeline for Abstract Submission:

August 12, 2024 – Abstract Submission Form Opens

December 6, 2024 – Abstract Submission Form Closes at 11:59 PM CT

December 16, 2024 – E-Mail Notifications of Accepted Abstracts Sent

February 28, 2025 – Day of Poster Session
